100% agree with Todd today.
Todd states ''Simply put, it'd be a waste to play Andersson or Brodie 13 minutes a night'' and for this reason I can still see TJ being moved if a 3rd pairing Dman on a good contract is part of the return.
Very hard to find trade partners with the cap being what it is but there are hockey trades to be made and I would not rule out a multi team deal to make this happen.
I believe in the right deal Tree would consider moving any of the following: Brodie, Frolik, Mangiapane, Janko, Czarnik and possibly Bennett if a deal was out there that brought us a top 6 right winger with size, D depth and a bit of cap relief.
Columbus has the cap space to make a deal even after they sign Werenski but next year they will have to pay Dubois and Anderson. |

One of Brodie’s main assets is his ability to log a large amount of minutes. His cardio is excellent and is the quickest Flames player to refresh in small amounts of time on the bench. It wouldn’t surprise me if Brodie and Andersson both play minutes on the 1st and 3rd line per game until Vali gets back.
Like I said before at the end of last season. Buy out Stone, and keep Fatenburg. Why we didn’t keep the latter for like 1.5mil is mind boggling. |

Hindsight is 20/20.
When Fantenberg signed in Vancouver (1 year x 850) Vali was pegged for the 3rd pairing and Fantenberg would have been the 7th or 8th D man in Calgary.
Last year Prout ate popcorn most of the year as our 7th Dman and we will have no problem finding another Prout on the waiver wire before the season starts. |

Kylington was much better than the numbers showed. FFS I think he had to play a bunch of minutes with Stone during the stretch drive and still managed to look pretty good
If he takes another step forward this off-season I will be pretty happy with him in the #6 spot. Once Valimaki is back I think our 3rd pairing will get recognized as one of the most dangerous in the league.
Standing by prediction that Brodie is traded in season. Rass' performance will make it easier for BT to pull the trigger--he has the makings of a Gio clone may as well have him playing/learning from him now IMO)
Gio Rass
Hanifin Hamonic
Valimaki Kylington
(Guy BT signs and we all hate for the first 2 months)
That's how our d should look when healthy/after TDL. |

We may already have that waiver plug in the PTO we have with Macdonald.
Was reading on a few rumour sites of the teams that will be looking at upgrading their top 4 & Brodie's name appeared with 3 or 4 others. Once gardiner inks & even Hutton, there is slim pickings for affordable 20 minute Dmen. Now that we are in September, the next week is probably going to be when we see some RFA's get signed & trades materialize. I would imagine Tre holds on to Brodie thru Sept to see how guys look in training camp. Agree, a decent bottom pairing D on a cheaper contract may be the way he goes. |

Huge year for Kylington. Coming into camp with a roster spot being his to lose, he's going to get every opportunity to become a full time NHLer. I have a feeling he's going to be the biggest story for the first half of this season. He's an elite skater and he looks like he has pretty good hockey sense. I remember in his draft year he was well into the top 10 at one point before sliding to the Flames in the 2nd round. Should be one of the more interesting stories to watch this season anyway. |

Schillington - TandA4Flames
Thanks.
Also, from an outside perspective I think Lucic might do alright in Calgary. Guy is still a pain in the ass and tough as snails. Hated that guy vs. The Leafs. He literally ended Komisarek. |
